About Me

I am an experienced Instructional Designer, Learning Consultant, and Project Manager with over 18 years in the learning industry, committed to turning complex information into engaging, practical solutions for adult learners.

​

My path into instructional design happened naturally through my work. I began noticing gaps in training at my current place of employment and stepped in to help fill them. I worked with subject matter experts and stakeholders to design training sessions, video tutorials, technical documents, and job aids that supported staff in their day-to-day work. What started as problem-solving quickly became something I genuinely enjoyed and felt drawn to.

I’ve always had a passion for working with adult learners and helping people feel more confident in their roles. After one training session, a staff member told me, “This was great. Can you just do this full time?” That moment stuck with me. It affirmed what I already felt and encouraged me to start doing more instructional design work outside of my primary role, eventually shaping the work I focus on today.​​

​Strategic Design: I work closely with subject matter experts to understand what learners actually need to do. I ask questions, identify gaps, and translate expert knowledge into learning experiences that are engaging, useful, and easy to retain.

 

Design Approach & Methodologies: I start with clear goals and design with the end in mind. I use established instructional design models when they fit the project and always think about how learning will be measured and improved. Accessibility is built into my process from the start with the intention of everyone being able to learn my content.

 

Adaptability: I connect easily with diverse learners and adjust my approach to meet different needs. I streamline learning processes for greater impact and adapt quickly to new tools and fast-paced environments.

Growth Mindset & Problem Solving: Beyond design work, I bring curiosity, initiative, and a focus on solving problems early. I enjoy improving systems, working through challenges, and making learning better over time.

 

Resilient & Creative: I am a resilient and creative problem solver and a motivated self-starter. I enjoy the challenge of solving puzzles, both in my work and outside of it.

 

Attention to Detail: I specialize in finding and filling gaps in learning content, often identifying and solving usability problems that others might not notice until after rollout.
